Apple adds beta AI assistants on Apple and OpenAI models to Creator Studio apps

Apple and OpenAI marks sit left of abstract Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Logic canvases linked by a thin assistant thread, with the word "beta" above the Apple mark on a soft peach-rose ground.

Apple said Tuesday that a Creator Studio update will add beta intelligent assistants built on Apple models and OpenAI inside Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Logic Pro, according to an Apple Newsroom post and The Verge.

In Keynote, Pages and Numbers, Apple said the assistant understands document context. Apple said it can help design, animate and refine slides in Keynote; draft, restructure and fine-tune writing in Pages; and calculate, visualize and organize data in Numbers, including chart recommendations and custom tables. Logic Pro for Mac gains a beta assistant that Apple said can help navigate production workflows, start a song, set up a vocal track from a single prompt, or refine an active project.

Keynote, Pages and Numbers also gain Model Context Protocol support, Apple said, so external AI agents and tools can read content, perform edits and run automated actions in those apps. The Verge reported MCP support requires macOS 27 or later. Apple said the Keynote, Pages and Numbers assistants require an Apple Intelligence-capable device on iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later and are available in U.S. English only; the Logic Pro assistant requires macOS 27 on an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac and is likewise U.S. English only. It follows Apple’s earlier Mac local-AI pitch and broader industry work on agent standards such as the Personal Agent Protocol.

Apple Creator Studio updates will be available on the App Store this November as a free update for existing subscribers, Apple said. New subscribers pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year, per the newsroom post. The software update arrives the same day Apple also announced M6 MacBook Pro and iMac hardware pitched for on-device AI; see AI Tech Daily’s same-day desk brief on that launch.

The Verge noted Pixelmator Pro’s Generate Fill and Final Cut Pro MotionVFX additions in the same suite drop; those are outside the assistant and MCP focus of this brief.
