OpenAI on Wednesday introduced AI-powered tools for advertisers and began testing business-sponsored agents that users can chat with inside ChatGPT, Reuters reported. HubSpot is the first CRM partner; Shopify’s app launches internationally where ChatGPT Ads are available, beginning September 23.
OpenAI began testing Sponsored Agents for ChatGPT users and expanded AI tools for advertisers on Wednesday, Reuters reported from Bengaluru.
Under the Sponsored Agents test, users can start conversations with business-sponsored agents and visit a business website after interacting with ads in ChatGPT. The agents are clearly labeled, and they are kept separate from ChatGPT’s independent responses and from the user’s original chat. Reuters said the test is running with select U.S. advertisers.
OpenAI also introduced a ChatGPT Ads Manager plugin that lets advertisers use natural-language prompts to create, update, and analyze campaigns. The tool can turn a website or campaign brief into a campaign, review performance, and offer recommendations. It can suggest copy and images drawn from a landing page and campaign objective, with optional AI text customization that tailors headlines and descriptions to conversation context and can translate them into a preferred language.
HubSpot is the first CRM partner for the advertising tools. Shopify is the first e-commerce partner, with a Shopify app launching internationally where ChatGPT Ads are available, beginning September 23.
