Nvidia said Monday it will invest $3 billion in Meta Platforms’ equity offering as the companies expand their work on Meta’s Muse models, according to a joint announcement.
The companies said they will partner to improve inference and training performance for Muse and the Muse family of models. Meta intends to expand its deployment of Nvidia infrastructure, including Vera Rubin and Vera CPUs, and to deploy Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-4, the announcement said.
They will also consider additional collaboration on Nvidia’s OpenShell Reference Architecture, including OpenShell for safe deployment and Nvidia Sentry for monitoring agent behavior, the companies said. The announcement framed those as options under consideration, not closed deals.
Chip-supplier commitments
CNBC reported that Nvidia will invest $3 billion and Advanced Micro Devices $1 billion, for $4 billion combined in Meta’s equity offering. Reuters, carried by Investing.com, said Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom expressed interest of up to $5 billion in total for Class A common shares. CNBC reported the $4 billion in named commitments; Reuters said total interest, including Broadcom, reached up to $5 billion. Their funding interest adds to concerns about an increasingly circular flow of capital in the AI industry, as chip suppliers help finance the expansion of one of their biggest customers, Reuters reported.
Meta’s equity raise
Reuters said Meta on Tuesday raised the planned size of its equity offerings to $97.5 billion, up from $95 billion. The plan now includes $25 billion in common stock, up from $22.5 billion disclosed Monday and priced at $625 a share; about $12.5 billion through the sale of 250 million convertible preferred depositary shares at $50 apiece; and a separate at-the-market program to sell up to $60 billion in shares after Meta’s non-voting Class C shares begin trading in the first quarter of 2027.
Meta’s pricing release matches the common upsizing to $25.0 billion from $22.5 billion, the $625 share price, and the 250 million Series A depositary shares at $50 each. Both offerings are expected to close on Oct. 29, Meta said. The raise builds on Meta’s AI funding push, as AI Tech Daily reported when Meta launched the offerings Monday.
